Thai’s Devotion

John 14:27

We all know that my dad wanted us to use bible verses from the bible. i thought long and hard about this and finally my answer was hidden in plain sight- a little bracelet i got from a VBS with Connor. The Bible verse was John 14:27. It said, “peace i leave with ou, my peace I give you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, do not be afraid”

i chose this verse because basically it says that if you ask God for money, he’s not going to go “poof, here’s ten stacks of hundred dollar bills.” no, of course he will not. He is gonna lay down a path ahead of you, like a job, so that that you have to work for that money.

then the last part of the verse hit me, as well. It says, “don’t let your hearts be troubled, and don’t be afraid.” This skind of smacked me in the face because i feel like i have lots of stress at school. So if i don’t let my heart be troubled, I can rock through my day. As for the afraid part, we all have fear, but it isn’t Godly. We must not fear because fear is an obstacle that the devil sets in our way.
